Your kids might have missed celebrating their birthday last year but not this year! You might have noticed we were very busy last year serving ice cream at drive by birthdays, baby showers, graduations, teacher appreciation day, back to schools and even a drive by wedding! So we've put together a list on how to plan the ultimate drive by party.

Decor

You don't need much but to make it look extra beautiful we recommend:

  • Backdrop

  • Chair

  • Balloon Garlands

  • Umbrella For Shade

  • Gift Table (You can also tie balloons that guests gift you to this table or else you get stuck holding them)

We don't recommend helium balloons. They fly around and are more of a bother than anything

An Activity

We've seen some really fun events! These were our favorite:

  • Water Balloon Fight - The birthday boys mom made bags full of water balloons for the cars to throw at him. He also had balloons to toss back.

  • Squirt Gun Fight - Guests drove by with their water guns to splash the guest of honor

  • Animals- One of our clients rented a unicorn for the birthday girl to sit on while guests drove by. This would work well for a farm themed party as well.

  • Princess & Characters- We've had clients hire Ariel, Mickey & Minnie to celebrate and wave at the cars driving by. This is a great option for those of you missing Disneyland, you can make your own little parade.

How It Works

  • Keep it within a short window so you aren't stuck outside for hours. We recommend 30-45 minutes.

  • Have guests circle twice. The first time they honk and the second time they stop and say hello.

  • Make it fun! Don't forget to play music to make it more lively. 

Goodie Bags & Treats

This is a great way to thank your guest for driving by. Spoil them with a little snack for the road home! Our favorites are:

  • Tacos

  • Pizzas

  • Cookies

  • Cotton candy

  • and of course Ice cream!
